The Results

An executive-level programme (that Resonance didn’t work with) was running concurrently to the manager programme. Both cohorts had been on the same year-long learning journey: the only difference was that the managers spent half a day with Resonance. The dragons’ den panel that adjudicated both sets of presentations had one question at the end of the pitches: why did the managers outperform the executives by such a wide margin on an identical leadership programme? The answer was the half-a-day managers spent with Resonance learning to pitch impactfully.

Key lesson: if you’re responsible for the success of a leadership programme, remember that perception is reality & your stakeholders only see the thin slice of final presentations - & therefore base their entire assessment of the effectiveness of the programme on how delegates pitch & present. It pays to invest in enabling talent to deliver impactful presentations!

The engagement received a perfect feedback assessment across every metric, with delegates remarking: “David is an electrifying public speaker and mentor. His passion for the subject matter is outstanding. Just one day attending a session with David on public speaking and presentation skills gave me a new perspective on the preparation, compilation and execution of a well-structured presentation. I will definitely recommend David as a coach and mentor for his approach to communication and effective presentation skills.”

“I have not learnt so much in such a short time as the time spent with David at Henley. He kept all of us wanting for more information and that after lunch time. His session of presentations and how you actually present yourself while presenting changed completely how I see it and how I will present from now on. I would highly recommend him for any clients. Honestly one of the best if not the best session I have ever had during a course. It will really add so much value to my career. Thanks David really impresses stuff.”
